Notes
Ex Sunrise Collection (unpubliziert). Adler und Krabbe waren im 5. Jh. v. Chr. das Hauptmotiv auf den Münzen von Akragas. Der Adler gilt als Attribut des Göttervaters Zeus, während die Krabbe, hier eine Süßwasserart, wohl für den Flußgott Akragas oder allgemein für die Küstenlage der Stadt steht, der sie ihren Wohlstand verdankte.
