Ex NAC 67, 2012, Los Nr. 274 (Slg. Archer M. Huntigton). HSA-Inventarnr. 30053 seit 1949. Nach schweren Kämpfen mit den Parthern um die Vorherrschaft in Armenien erkannte Nero Tiridates, den Bruder des Partherkönigs, als armenischen König an. Dieser stellte sich zumindest nominell unter römische Oberhoheit und wurde 66 in Rom vom Kaiser gekrönt. Die faktische Zurücknahme römischer Interessen stilisierte Nero als militärischen Erfolg. In diesem Zusammenhang ließ er auch die Tore des Janustempels schließen, was traditionell das Ende aller Kampfhandlungen gegen Rom anzeigte.
