Louis II. von Bourbon, Prince de Condé (1621-1686) war potentieller Thronanwärter und ein äußerst erfolgreicher Feldherr. Nachdem er in Opposition zu Kardinal Mazarin gegangen war, musste er nach Spanien fliehen, wurde aber 1659 wieder begnadigt. Er kehrte nach Frankreich zurück, wo er sich als Sammler und Mäzen betätigte (u.a. für Molière).
