Prof. Dr. Max Breitung (1852-1921) war ein an der Charité in Berlin tätiger Arzt, der zudem unter dem Pseudonym Meo Breo Lustspiele verfasste. In Plauen wurde eine Straße nach ihm benannt, vermutlich entstand die Plakette in diesem Zusammenhang 4 Jahre nach seinem Tod.
