Ex Künker 97, 2005, Los Nr. 1888. Constantinus I. führte als neue Goldmünze den Solidus zu 1/72 Pfund ein. Dieser sollte sich über Jahrhunderte weg als sehr "solide" erweisen und bis in byzantinische Zeit Bestand haben. Unter anderem hat das deutsche Wort Sold hier seinen Ursprung (vgl. auch ital. soldi=Geld). Es ist nicht sicher geklärt, um welches Nominal es sich bei der vorliegenden Münze handelt.
