Ex Hirsch 280, 2012, Los Nr. 4256. Der Boiotische Schild war das Hauptmotiv auf den Münzen der Boioter. Vielleicht war der mit Rinderhaut bespannte Schild eine Art sprechendes Wappen (Boiotia=gr. Land der Rinder). Zudem war er ein Attribut der Athena Itonia, deren Heiligtum bei Koroneia der Versammlungsort des Boiotischen Bundes war. Auch die Anlehnung an die Form der berühmten aiginetischen "Schildkröten" mag als Erklärung dienen. Regelbesteuert.
