Die Frauenkirche (Kirche Unserer Lieben Frau) wurde von 1726 bis 1743 nach einem Entwurf von George Bähr erbaut und besitzt eine der größten steinernen Kirchenkuppeln nördlich der Alpen. Der Grundstein wurde am 26. August 1726 gelegt. Sie ist Bestandteil des Barockensembles, das in Dresden unter König August dem Starken und seinem Sohne Friedrich August II. entstand.
