Die Darstellung des eponymen Meeresgottes in Angriffsstellung blieb auch in späterer Zeit das vorherrschende Motiv auf den Münzen Poseidonias. Es wird vermutet, daß es einer Kolossalstatue in einem der großen Tempel der Stadt nachempfunden ist.
