Im Jahr 1786 beteiligte sich die Neue Münze in Berlin an der Talerproduktion. Zur Unterscheidung wurde beiderseits ein Punkt neben das Mz. A gesetzt. Da Friedrich der Große am 17. A(ugust) 86 starb, wird dieser Taler als Sterbetaler bezeichnet.
