Genaral Georgi Konstantinowitsch Schukov (1896-1974) gelang die erfolgreiche Verteidigung Moskaus und er war siegreich in der Schlacht bei Stalingrad. In der Nacht vom 9. Mai 1945 nahm er in Berlin als Vertreter der Sowjetunion die bedingungslose Kapitulation der deutschen Wehrmacht entgegen.
