Friedrich von Bodenstedt (1819 Peine -1892 Wiesbaden) war Schriftsteller und Theaterintendant (u.a. in Meiningen). Bei einer Reise nach Tiflis lernte er den Dichter Mirza Schaffy kennen, dessen Lieder er 1851 veröffentlichte. Diese wurden von Anton Rubinstein vertont.
